About Zimbali

Set in the lush subtropical coastal belt, 42 km north of Kwazulu Natal’s largest city, Durban, Zimbali is an easy drive from the International Airport.


Zimbali Estate

Zimbali, (Zulu for “Valley of Flowers” )Coastal and Forest Estate is a protected environment in a haven of naturally occuring lakes and wetlands. It is home to a wide variety of indigenous flora as well as wildlife. There are magnificent Butterflies, such as the Citrus Swallowtail, many beautiful species of antelope and it is a birdwatcher’s paradise,with possible sightings of the rare Narina Trogon, not to mention the many monkeys that swing past on trees. The Ocean provides more enjoyment, where Dolphins swim past daily and sightings of whales can be observed.


Golf

The suberb championship golfcourse, designed by former British Open and S.A. PGA Golf champion , Tom Weiskopf , has been designed specifically for use by golf cart and offers a very scenic golf experience. In the Bali style Clubhouse (with locker rooms) you can enjoy a variation of meals and snacks from a traditional English breakfast to the renowned Curry made by the Indians in Natal.


Other Activities

For the time when you are not playing golf, there are beautifully designed pools at the beach which are accessible on foot or by golfcart and where there is also a snack bar with refreshments.In addition there are floodlit tennis courts, squash courts and horse riding on the beach.


Sight Seeing

For those who want to do some sight seeing, close to Zimbali are Boat Trips to see Dolphins, Tala Game Reserve, Hwuhluwe Game Reserve, Shaka Land (a traditional Zulu Village), city tours around Durban, Scuba Diving, Deep Sea Fishing and the Valley of 1000 hills.
